As a UNESCO World Heritage City, the principal attractions in Trinidad are its fabulous historic buildings and their architecture. In addition to these though, Trinidad's attractions include music halls and museums. If you do venture to Trinidad, be sure to check out some of these places:
· Plaza Mayor - the center of Trinidad since it was established in 1514, the plaza follows the usual pattern of Spanish-style towns as being the area of the town from where everything spawns
· Encuentro Nacional de Trios - the traditional musical hub of the town
· Centro historico de Trinidad - this is a monument to the towns past when the profits made from the sugar mills evaporated (mid Nineteenth Century) and the town became a sort of ghost-town. Today, as you walk through here, you'll feel like you been transported back in time to the late Eighteenth Century Latin AmericaValle de Los Ingenios - a living natural history museum, the valley contains the ruins of 12 sugar-mills, which date back to the decline in the sugar industry (circa. late Nineteenth Century)
