With its natural beauty and splendor, Cayo Largo offers a full range of things for the visitor to do. The following are some highlights:
· Beach Volleyball - beach volleyball is a popular pastime throughout Cuba and in Cayo Largo you’re likely to come across the odd net here and there. Get a couple of people together and you could have yourself a game on the pristine beach
· Fishing - the island offers a good opportunity for a bit of sea angling - if that's your pleasure - as the waters around the island are seen as good for a bite or two
· Horseback riding - is available at the Gran Caribe hotel resorts
· La Granja de las Tortugas (the turtle farm) - located at Puertosol Marina this is a Cayo Largo del Sur Tourism resort's conservation and protection program. As part of the program, turtle eggs are collected from the beaches around the island and are then brought back to the sanctuary to hatch. Once the eggs have hatched, the baby turtles are then returned to the wild of the ocean at one of the safer beaches on the island. The species of turtles you'll see here include Loggerheads, Green Turtles, and Hawksbill Turtles
· Tower Gardens - are located between the Hotel Pelicano and Villa Lindmar. The Gardens include a small nursery and pond. Ideal for a nice relaxing afternoon's walk
· Cayo Iguana - Cayo Largo's natural inhabitants are iguanas and here you get the chance to come up close and fed them!
· Catamaran Cruise - you can take a day trip on one of the island's catamarans. The catamaran trip is very popular as it is an ideal way to get in some snorkeling and diving. The tour program includes lunch, but be sure to book early as it is very popular
