INGREDIENTS (should serve 4)
1lb. (round) steak
2 cloves of garlic
2 eggs
1 onion
1/2 sour orange
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of ground cracker meal
1/4 of a teaspoon of pepper
Olive oil
PREPARATION
A very easy to prepare dinner meal in Cuba. Get 1Ib of round steak and cut this up into 6 thin slices. Make sure you clean these and give them a good pounding. Cover the pieces with crushed garlic, to add flavor, and pepper. Add some sour orange juice and marinate for one hour. Whilst the pieces are marinating, make sure you have them well covered. When ready, cook the steak. At the same time, beat some eggs with added salt. Take the steaks off the cooker and dip them in the beaten eggs – with some crushed crackers. Fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit until the steaks are golden brown. Serve up to the family.
